My English Tutor at Home
When I moved to Canada, the biggest challenge is how to improve my English skills, especially English listening, speaking and writing.
If I need to prepare my presentation, I always ask her to help me pronounce correctly. After I wrote some articles, I like to discuss with her, sometimes she help me to correct my grammar mistakes.
She is my dear daughter, her name is Chen, she is a very smart and diligent girl.
Thank you!I love you!

Remembrance Day
On November 11th we honour the memory of Canadians who died in wars. November 11th was the day the peace treaty to end WW1 was signed. These are things we do to help us remember:
- People wear red poppies because poppies grew in the firelds where Canadian soldiers were buried in France and Belgium
- Wreaths are placed at graves and war memorials
- People attend remembrance ceremonies and parades and observe a moment of silence at 11 am. on Nov.11
In China, there is also a similar day to remember those soldiers who died in wars as well as their ancestors. It has a history over 2,500 years. On that day, people wear white flowers because white flowers represent regret and nostalgia. People also go to sweep their tombs. Therefore, this day is called Tomb-sweeping Day which is on April 5th.

Thanksgiving Day
Thanksgiving Day is an important holiday in North America which celebrates the successful harvest of some of the first European settlers here.
The first Thanksgiving took place in almost four hundred years ago. It was in the English colony of Massachusetts. In 1620, the Pilgrims who were a religious group from Engliand arrived in Plymouth, Massachuletts. The Pilgrims' first winter was very hard. The Wampanoag who were a trible of Native Americans in Massachusettes helped them to hunt, grow corn and survive in the New World. When the next winter came, the pilgrims got enough food. They were grateful and invited the Wampanoag to the feast to give them thankfulness.
This is my first Thanksgiving Day in Canada with my family. I prepared a great dinner with my family. We had smoked turkey, Chinese dumplings by ourselves and so on. This is my first time to deal with turkey at home. It was so delicious! Happy Thanksgiving Day to everyone!

Happy birthday to my husband!
This is a picture of my family. It was my husband's birthday. We went to William Hawrelak Park to celebrate this day. On the back with yellow hoody is my daughter. She's holding a birth-day card for my husband from me. We enjoyed a lot of delicious foods there and there were too many birds arounded us while eating. Fortunately, the weather was nice. By the way, we found that the leaves were turing yellow and falling down with the wind. Probably it was the last time for us to enjoy the sunshine outside in the park.
